Two weeks ago while watching the Senior Day introductions for the Notre Dame vs. Wake Forest game, Notre Dame Senior Linebacker Manti T’eo was described as “having an extra heartbeat.”

This extra heartbeat is for his team and symbolic of his exceptional leadership. He is the emotional leader of the team and a big reason why The Fighting Irish are playing for a BCS National Title.

As a leader, do you have this extra heartbeat to share with and motivate your team? Are you their emotional beacon who lays it all on the line and leads by example? Does your passion and deep care about the mission and the people inspire others? Or do you just rely on your title or authority or manipulation to get people to do what you want?

Do you have an extra heartbeat for others to borrow and rally around?

If not, why not?
