October 28, 2012 6:08 PMWhat you’re talking about here is pretty much the MO of the management at my retail day-job. It’s very frustrating! I try to celebrate the small victories of my day, it keeps me going when I’m not in the place I want to be. They do have a few contests and rewards for reaching certain goals, which is nice for the month overall, but in the day-to-day I find myself working really hard at not getting yelled at, and I think my work suffers for it.

October 29, 2012 12:15 PMHi Lauren,
Thanks for your comment! I’m sure it is frustrating and your company certainly isn’t getting the best from you when your primary goal is to not get yelled at. Remember what this feels like. One day you’ll be in a leadership/management role and you can be a part of the positive reinforcement movement!
